| He's calling us to lay aside our worries and rest our busy minds to rest in Him. Sometimes, we forget that we have a place to go to when we find ourselves in a jam. I know I am guilty of that. Our faith gets stagnant and we forget that God is even there. He's still there and He is worthy to be praised. I don't know why I chose "Unashamed Love" as a song for the praise set tonight. I think it might have been God telling us to just come back and put our focus on Him instead of ourselves. | | |
| Actually this has something to do with something that happened to me last Saturday. I was going with my mom to the mall to shop for gifts. I was singing a song in my head (Love Song for a Savior by Jars of Clay). I guess it could have been coincidence but when I turned on the radio in the car, that song was playing. It could have been God saying, "Yeah, I'm here." | | |
| Well, I'm back. Today's verses in the WOL QT is John 15:12-27. In these verses, Jesus talks about love; not just loving ourselves our neighbors. That means that we are to love all other people, and that includes our enemies. Jesus also distinguishes Christians from the worldly people. Christians love the Lord and worldly people do not. Therefore, the world hate's you because you are on the Lord's side. I think Jesus is trying to tell us that there will be times of trial. We must not forget who we are. We are chosen from those of the world. We were once worldly but now, God has turned us around to follow Him. We just have to remember that through all struggles, that God is on our side, and that He will be there to hold us up when we fall. We are to witness to all those around us and thus spread God's glory to others around us. Through all this, God will be at ourside fighting our battles for us. In comparison, God is doing all of the heavy lifting. All we have to do is go out and proclaim His name to the world. CHALLENGE TIME! I challenge everyone that reads this to take the gospel out this week and talk to at least one person who you are friends with that's a non-chrisitian and spread God's word to a unsaved world just waiting to be harvested. | | |
| Hey all you teens out there. Here's my challenge to you...Talk to one friend this week about Christ. You don't have to lead them to Christ or anything. that's up to God. but talk to one friend about Christ, and invite them to come out to TG on Friday. I'll tell you right now, if you do that, I think that both of you will be blessed greatly. Well, in today's QT, the Jews (meaning the Pharisees I would guess) were grumbling and Jesus told them that He is the bread of life. we can see that the Jews didn't really believe. they say how can a man's body be broken and we eat his flesh? they didn't see the whole picture as we commonly are guilty of. Sometimes, we pay way too much attention to the details and forget that there is a whole. Towards the end of the passage, Jesus says that, "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day." I think the big picture here is that we should not loose focus on the object of our faith, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. That's all for now. | | |
